How did Christopher Paolini, a homeschooler from Montana, become one of the world’s best-selling authors? The story of his remarkable career has appeared in The Writer magazine of May 2012 in the form of an interview and also in an illustrated article in Rolling Stone magazine of March 1, 2012 by freelancer Amanda Fortini. Indeed, if you type in his name in Google search, you’ll find that he has already become a world literary celebrity.
It appears that Christopher, now 28, who still lives with his parents, started writing his first fantasy novel at the age of 15. He got his inspiration from reading J.R.R. Tolkien, E.R. Eddison, and Anne McCaffrey. His family liked the story and decided to publish it themselves as a homeschool family business. It took them a year to prepare the book for publication. The book, Eragon, was published in 2001, when Christopher turned 18.
Everyone wants to know why 24-year-old James Holmes, the killer in the movie theater in Aurora, Colorado, randomly shot over 70 people, killing 12 innocent moviegoers. Why did he do it? What was his motive? What drove him to massacre so many people he didn’t know, including children? The answer will never be provided by the psychologists, or the media, or the government. Most of them are too unwilling to figure out why these massacres are taking place. And if they knew the answer, they would not want the public to know it.
But since I am old enough to remember a time in America when such massacres were unheard of, I suspect that I know why our society is creating young sociopaths with the urge to kill. It has something to do with our atheist education system and the nihilist morals they now teach
A group of parents in Highland Park, Michigan, have sued the public schools in their district for failing to teach their children to read as required by state law. The suit is being filed by the American Civil Liberties Union, which is part of the Progressive movement that has deliberately dumbed-down the American public education system.
One of the more disturbing aspects of the U.S. Department of Education is its obsession with data collection. But it all makes perfect sense if you see it from the point of view of the educational totalitarians whose aim it is to use behavioral psychology for the purpose of modifying and controlling human behavior.
In John Dewey’s article of 1898, “The Primary Education Fetich,” in which he warned his progressive colleagues that “change must come gradually,” lest it arouse violent resistance on the part of parents and taxpayers, he outlined his plan for how all of this was to be carried out.
After 35 years of research, I can state without equivocation that the prime mover responsible for the change in primary reading instruction, which has led to the decline in literacy in America, was none other than John Dewey, who is usually worshiped by liberals as the "father of progressive education."
The purpose of drugging kids with Ritalin, Adderall, and other similar medications is to relieve the disruptive hyperactive behavior these children exhibit in school as their brains are gradually being injured by their educators.
Contributing to the delinquency of a minor has long been considered a crime. Parents who have permitted teenagers to drink liquor at parties in their homes have been charged with this crime. Adult seducers of under-age teenage girls have also been charged with this crime. But in schools, where pornographic sex education is used to introduce children to premarital, recreational sex, the crime of contributing to the delinquency of a minor is permitted.
Is there any doubt that teaching children how to use condoms encourages premarital sex? And is there any doubt that premarital “recreational” sex can lead to unwanted pregnancies, abortions, children out of wedlock, venereal disease, negative emotional entanglements, and other social problems? Yet, the public schools see no reason not to continue purveying explicit sex information that clearly destroys the innocence of the young.
In the first part of this article we wrote about crimes committed by the educators against individual children. But these same educators are also guilty of crimes against the nation. Indeed, back in 1983, the National Commission on Excellence in Education produced its long-awaited and by now totally ignored report entitled "A Nation at Risk." It was chaired by David P. Gardner and included such prominent members as Nobel prize-winning chemist Glenn T. Seaborg; A. Bartlett Giamatti, President of Yale; Gerald Holton, Professor of Physics at Harvard; and Annette Y. Kirk, wife of conservative author Russell Kirk. The most famous statement in the report accused our educators of outright treason. It said:
If an unfriendly foreign power had attempted to impose on America the mediocre educational performance that exists today, we might well have viewed it as an act of war. As it stands, we have allowed this to happen to ourselves.
American public schools are daily guilty of deliberately committing the following crimes: child abuse by deliberately impairing a child’s brain through the use of teaching methods designed to produce functional illiteracy; contributing to the delinquency of a minor by teaching pornographic sex education and “alternative” lifestyles; destroying a child’s belief in biblical religion, a moral crime that leads children into atheism, nihilism, and Satanism which can result in self-destructive, murderous behavior; pushing drugs by promoting the use of Ritalin, Adderall, and other mind altering drugs as potent as cocaine; extorting billions of dollars from the taxpayer on the phony pretext that they are actually educating the children.
