In his contribution to The Permanent Revolution: The French Revolution and Its Legacy, a bicentennial anthology of homage to the worldwide radical transformations wrought by that seminal event, Professor George Steiner wrote: "The barest enumeration of the consequences of 1789 enforces the realization that the world as we know it today is the composite of reflexes, political assumptions and structures, rhetorical postulates, bred by the French Revolution .... The French Revolution is the pivotal historico-social date after the foundation of Christianity." Indeed and much more. Its leading adherents from 1789 to the present have, by word and deed, proven repeatedly their ferocious zeal utterly to obliterate Christianity and the entire moral-social-political order it has built.

As the summit on global warming opens in frigid Copenhagen, climate alarmists at the United Nations and within various national governments — along with their media allies — are struggling mightily to contain the Climategate e-mail scandal.

Will Al Gore become the first "carbon billionaire?" That question — and the ethical issues involved in his related lobbying activities — is beginning to dog him, as he goes out on the global-warming hustings again, this time pitching his new book to gin up political support for the December UN summit in Copenhagen.

Communist Ties Become Issue in NYC Politics

North Korean FlagsAs we reported in a related article published yesterday, John Choe is a leading candidate in the September 15 Democratic primary for New York City's 20th City Council District. He also has very troubling ties to communist North Korea, otherwise known as the Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea (DPRK), as well the Workers World Party (WWP), an unabashed communist Maoist sect.

Jong-IlWith North Korea defiantly slinging missiles in our direction, now might not seem the most propitious time for a politico tied to this member of the "axis of evil" to make a run for elective political office in the United States. Nevertheless, John Choe, one of the most outspoken boosters of communist dictator Kim Jong Il's brutal regime, is running for New York City Council's 20th District seat, representing Flushing, Queens.

Willis TowerA militant Islamist group, Hizb ut-Tahrir al Islami (The Islamic Liberation Party), held a recruiting conference in Chicago on Sunday July 19. Not surprisingly, the major liberal-left media pretty much ignored the event, as they have done with countless similar events in recent years.

Peter LanceIn spite of a 20-month campaign of intimidation by one of the most powerful prosecutors in America, author Peter Lance has succeeded in getting the updated edition of Triple Cross, his book on the 9/11 terrorist attacks, released to the public. Originally published in 2006, Triple Cross: How Bin Laden's Master Spy Penetrated the CIA, the Green Berets, and the FBI details the incredible story of  Ali Mohamed, the Egyptian who managed to penetrate the deepest levels of the U.S. intelligence community and provide vital assistance to Al Qaeda terrorist operations for years prior to the 9/11 terror attacks — while on the U.S. government's payroll.

UN's Marxist Plan for Global Government

D'EscotoUnited Nations General Assembly President Miguel D'Escoto Brockmann intends to leave his mark on the United Nations and the global economic-political picture before his one-year term ends in September. D'Escoto, a longtime top official in the communist Sandinista government of Nicaragua, has chosen as his primary vehicle for making this mark the UN Conference on the World's Financial and Economic Crisis to be held June 24-26 at the UN headquarters in New York.
