babyA British-based pro-life leader said that a recent study by two influential organizations supposedly showing that “unsafe” abortions are on the rise is nothing more than pro-abortion propaganda.

As she heads into the last year of her tenure in the state of Washington, Democratic Governor Christine Gregoire (left) has a handful of policy initiatives she would like to push through to pad her political legacy: balance the state’s budget, raise state revenues, create some jobs to help the economy, improve education. And force through a bill legalizing homosexual marriage.

babyAbout 40 percent of all pregnancies in New York City end in abortion, according to the most recent statistics from the city’s health department. That makes the abortion rate of America’s largest city more than double the national average. According to NYC health department numbers, the lives of more than 83,000 babies were ended via the murderous procedure in 2010, although, surprisingly, that number was down by one percent from the city’s 2009 abortion statistics. But even more horrific was the news that 63 percent of teen mothers terminated their pregnancies with the help of an abortionist.

Nearly a month after pulling its advertising from a reality show about American Muslims, nationwide retailer Lowe’s Home Improvement is facing a backlash from Muslims and others who consider the action discriminatory.

Planned Parenthood has released its Annual Report for 2009-2010, and predictably, the revelations about the abortion giant’s doings over that time frame paint a tragic picture. With a total budget of just over $1 billion, the “family planning” group was responsible for a total of 329,445 abortions, while making just 841 adoption referrals. That means there were 391 abortions for every adoption — a horrific ratio.

This Christmas season the family of 17-year-old Jenni Lake remembered the Pocatello, Idaho, teen for her sacrifice in refusing medical treatment for cancer so that the baby growing inside her would be born healthy and whole.

A New Jersey hospital that performs abortions has promised a dozen of its pro-life nurses that they will not be required to assist in the murderous procedure. With the assistance of the Alliance Defense Fund, a conservative legal advocacy group, the 12 nurses had earlier filed suit against the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ) after its hospital had tried to force the nurses to help with abortion cases, a violation of both state and federal laws.

A new study by the Pew Research Center has found that only 51 percent of adults in the U.S. are married, an all-time low for matrimony in America. The recent numbers pale in comparison to a high in 1960, when 72 percent of adults 18 and older were married, and represent a trend that is similar to that witnessed in other “advanced post-industrial societies,” says Pew.

A group of Girl Scout leaders in Louisiana has decided to dismantle its troops because of a recent decision by the national organization to allow boys who are confused about their gender to join the ranks of the female scouting program. The leaders, who oversee three Girl Scout troops at Northlake Christian School in Lacombe, Louisiana, explained that the move by the group’s national leadership conflicted with their host organization’s Christian beliefs. “This goes against what we [Northlake Christian School] believe,” Susan Bryant-Snure, one of the leaders, told Baptist Press News. Snure has three daughters of her own among the 25 girls participating in the Girl Scout program through the school.

Abortion advocates are getting bolder in their outlandish opinions on what constitutes a personal right of “choice.” Writing recently on the popular pro-abortion website RH Reality Check, bloggers Susan Yanow and Steph Herold went to bat for a 20-year-old New York City woman who was arrested and charged with inducing her own abortion — then disposing of the baby’s body in the trash.
