So much for President Barack Obama’s claim that the “stimulus” bill’s would “create or save 3.5 million jobs.” Where’s the saved jobs if Bloomberg can announce that a growing number of economists expect the economy to “suffer further job losses in the coming months”? Even Federal Reserve Vice Chairman Donald Kohn admits, "Many financial markets remain under considerable stress…. These conditions are not conducive to a substantial and sustained economic rebound." China trade deficit, the silent killer Our willingness to trade with this Communist country is the real killer. We have oustourced all manufacturing to a country paying $1 per hour and no benefits. Executions at will, and a ausome spy network. A billion people in poverty will happily take all the jobs from American workers. Our annual trade deficit of $1 trillion is sucking the life out of this country. |

... No, the real killer is exactly what this article states: that the Obama administration's plans to "borrow our way out of debt" is absolutely absurd. I propose a new and improved form of our government: a fusion of representation and direct democracy via the internet. Every bill that is up for vote in Congress should be posted on each Congressman's website, along with a Yea or Nay vote selection and an English translation of the legalese. Everyone who is a constituent of that state votes using their social security number as identification, and however the votes tally is how the Congressman MUST vote on said bill. If he doesn't vote the way his people vote, he's out. Done. Fired. Kaput. AND the bill must be revoted upon. On top of that, Congressmen don't get paid to be Congressmen. That was stated in the original Articles of COnfederation, and it needs to be that way now. It is a PUBLIC OFFICE. Your expenses are covered (within reason), but you get no salary, no pension, no bennies. You do it because of your altruistic nature, and for no other reason. |
