On something even as elementary as making the exact legislation available to the public and to legislators in a timely manner prior to voting, we got more hype than candor from Mr. Obama. On whether everything’s kosher in how the Democrats are fashioning the healthcare vote, Obama declared, “I don't spend a lot of time worrying about what the procedural rules are in the House or the Senate.” Since most Americans are satisfied with their current health insurance (and against the Democrats’ reforms), Mr. Obama assured the audience that nothing will change for the happy and satisfied: “If you have insurance, you’re going to be able to keep it.” He didn’t say how that will be possible with 45 percent of doctors saying in an Investor’s Business Daily survey that they’re thinking about shutting down their practices or retiring early if Congress passes the current healthcare overall. Ralph R. Reiland is an associate professor of economics at Robert Morris University in Pittsburgh. Trackback(0)

... Take out all that Unamerican policy, that impedes a man's liberty. Or, better yet -- repeal the bill. |

"Trust me, I'm not a crook" ---Richard Nixon Obama is the epitome of the politician. "Tricky Dick" fooled conservatives , and still has many fooled to this day; Obama has plenty of fools for life and they are showing up at this site to show how foolish they are with their silly and mean-spirited posts |

... It's a shame that the federal government wants to overstep its constitutional bounderies and tread where only states are allowed to tread, given the fact that it not defies the Constitution but logic and reason as well. Every state that has tried universal health care ( which is leagal for the states to try to implement) for its citizens has virtually gone bankrupt. If this is such at great idea why is it such an obscene failure where ever it is implemented. Obviously this bill is not about making people healthier but about usurping more power to control our lives. |

Point of Clarification, Mr. Reiland. Mr. Reiland, Thank you for the excellent article. There is one point that I would urge you and all my constitutional friends to remember. I believe it is inaccurate to state, " I believe that there are many, many Americans that are not satisfied with their current health insurance. However, these same Americans recognize that the inadequacies of their insurance are caused by government and therefore the solution is not more government involvement. The challenge that we have in opposing this unconstitutional power-grab is that what we have already is fraught with unconstitutional government intervention that causes it to be inefficient, expensive, and unhelpful to many. We ignore these facts at our peril. Our opponents rhetorically gain the high ground if they can convince many Americans that we opponents of Obamacare actually like the current system. |

Sorry about that... my fault Oops. Sorry dear Readers. The strike through was inadvertently inserted by my attempt to include a bracket in the wrong place. What became quickly obvious while watching President Obama’s recent interview about healthcare reform with Bret Baier on FOX is that we’re still not getting straight answers about the proposed reforms — and this after a year of healthcare being the No. 1 priority at the Obama White House.
