We all know how long it takes for our computer to boot up. Usually we run and grab ourselves a cup of coffee or a snack, or do some other little task while we are waiting. It can feel like an eternity. “Electronics is not supposed to warm up anymore,” says Brian Richardson, senior technical marketing engineer, for American Megatrends Inc., a major BIOS maker. “So we have been trying to shrink the time it takes to get the machine ready.” Trackback(0)

More IP entrapment? Will there be any Intellectual Property tied up in this new "standard"? A RAND is completely useless. I see Microsoft has their hands in this. Nothing good for the end user ever comes out of anything Microsoft is involved in. It will simply be another way for Microsoft to lock you in to their products and then add insult to injury by saying you "chose" their products. It's all mind numbingly predictable at this point. |

... I think this is great news for me since I hate slow computer. This make me very happy. I think technical people must support this hardware people since although this people are doing so much effort but if software take time then they can not do any thing. |

More Cores, Faster Boot Up.... Microsoft Must Count from little rectangular blip to desktop Splash. as its longer & More cores, = better. drashek |

Personal computers' BIOS (basic input/output system) makers have, due to the frustration of many users, set their mind to making the boot-up time for your computer shorter.
