The headlines document the tale of treason: “Five American Muslims from Virginia were detained in Pakistan while on a mission to train for a jihad against American soldiers in Afghanistan.” “The Federal Bureau of Investigation reckons that up to twenty young American Muslims have left Minnesota to fight alongside terrorists in Somalia.” “A group of six Muslims plotted to kill as many soldiers as possible at the U.S. Army installation at Ft. Dix, New Jersey.” “John Mohammad, the sniper convicted of murdering several innocent people in the D.C. area a few years ago, was executed for those crimes.” And finally, “Army Major Nidal Hasan shouted praises to Allah as he sprayed a hail of gunfire inside an Army readiness center where soldiers were prepped for deployment to Iraq and Afghanistan, killing 13 and injuring 32 others.” I, Nidal Malik Hasan, having been appointed a major in the U.S. Army under the conditions indicated in this document, do accept such appointment and do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God. These were the words spoken by Nidal Hasan in May of 2009 after being promoted from captain to major, just prior to being assigned to his new duty station at Fort Hood, Texas. — Photo: AP Images

This is the fruit of multi-culturalism In a pluralistic society, we are all supposed to be sensitive to other religions, without judging them. If we judge another religion, we are supposedly being intolerant. This incident is a good example of more to come... however, what we need to be prepared for is something far more sinister. In order to have a single rule that is applied to all religious views, I believe we can expect a coming ban on all religious speech in the military or government. That way Christians are equally restricted in order to restrict Muslims from spouting anti-Christian and anti-US sentiments. If America is no longer a Christian nation, we may very well be seeing the limits of a free society without the ability of society to judge religion. |

Don't fall for the planted story We at JBS are supposed to be above the mainstream brainwashing. Before I will accept that Hasan was not a puppet to some evil satanic plot, I want more questioning of the numerous people that clearly reported multiple shooters. Also, I'd like to question his psychological treatments before the shooting. Can anyone say Manchurian Candidate. We are losing our freedom quickly here, and there is much more beneath the surface that must be questioned. The fear to question our Government is becoming contageous. |

Hey Zapatista Hasan stated that the infidels should have their throats cut and Muslims should rise up against the oppressors in Iraq. It has everything to do with Islam. Educate yourself, before you make more ridiculous comments. From the "Justice" chapter of Reliance of the Traveller A Classic Manual of Islamic Sacred Law THE RULES OF WARFARE o9.10 It is not permissible (A: in jihad) to kill women or children unless they are fighting against the Muslims. Nor is it permissible to kill animals, unless they are being ridden into battle against the Muslims, or if killing them will help defeat the enemy. It is permissible to kill old men (O: old man(shaykh) meaning someone more than forty years of age) and monks. If I recall correctly the US Military is fighting against Muslims, in Afghanistan, Iraq, and sometimes Pakistan and Somalia. |

Major Hasan and Islam Good as this article is, it suffers from a fatal flaw. Throughout the article there are references to a violent "strain of Islam" or radical "interpretation of Islam". This is a fundamental misconception even among people who have a little knowledge of Islam. There is no "violent strain of Islam". The ideology of Islam is pretty well fixed, and has been fixed for more than a thousand years. The "radicals" are the ones who apply the standard doctrines of Islam in practice. This is not the same as following a different "strain of Islam". There are moderate Moslems, but there is no such thing as "moderate Islam". There are radical Moslems, but there is no such thing as "radical Islam". There are NO competing "strains" or "interpretations" of the Koran, the sayings of Muhammad and Shariah law. "Radical Islam" is nothing more than a literal reading of the Koran and the sayings of Muhammad. |

... Mr. Joe Wolverto, II is preaching to the choir. What needs to happen that the authorities read this. The very people who are Homeland security, the people who keep our country safe and protect us from these fanatics and Jihadists. And no, we do not need to be tolerant to these people who enjoy death and dying for whatever and no, we do not and should shout from the roof tops that there is no room in our society and our way of living for people who enjoy dying for the Paradise they dream of and hopefully force their beliefs on us. We need to stand up as one nation and say, go back to your country of origin and die however you want with whomever you want to take with you but go away from us. We love life, we enjoy our life style and yes, we would even tolerate you when you stop worshiping death and stop your honor killing in our country. Victoria |

... i dont care what ppl think of my outlook on this whole muslim issue. it states in their koran to kill anyone who isnt muslim. so what does that mean? it means christians, catholics, baptists, and whoever else doesnt follow their teachings. it means kill everything this country was built on and everything it stands for. these muslims are brainwashed and are a great danger to what this country stands for. and trust me, this violence wont end its going to keep happening and happening and happening! i dont trust any muslim. i mean how could u when their teachings are ate up with killing ppl cuz they dont worship like they do. u dont see in the christian bible or catholic one to kill ppl or animals who arent a certain religion. it tells u to teach them the gospel and love one another. to me, thats a true GOD!!! |

Since the invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan, a number of American Muslims have grown increasingly radical in their adherence to a violent strain of Islam and have tried with varying degrees of success to prove the sincerity of their devotion by killing American soldiers and civilians.
