When Jimmy Carter ran for president, he said: “The people of this country know from bitter experience that we are not going to get … changes merely by shifting around the same group of insiders.” And top Carter aide Hamilton Jordan promised: “If, after the inauguration, you find a Cy Vance as Secretary of State and Zbigniew Brzezinski as head of National Security, then I would say we failed. And I’d quit.” Yet Carter selected Vance as Secretary of State and Brzezinski as National Security Adviser; the “same group of insiders” had been shifted around; and Jordan did not quit. I don’t believe that the Trilateral Commission is a conspiratorial group, but I do think its interests are devoted to international banking, multinational corporations, and so forth. I don’t think that any Administration of the U.S. Government should have the top nineteen positions filled by people from any one group or organization representing one viewpoint. No, I would go in a different direction. Yet after his election, President Reagan picked 10 Trilateralists for his transition team, and included in his administration such Trilateralists as Vice President George Bush, Defense Secretary Caspar Weinberger, U.S. Trade Representative William Brock, and Fed Chairman Paul Volcker. Yet the entire North American membership of the Trilateral Commission has never numbered much over 100. The word “Establishment” is a general term for the power elite in international finance, business, the professions and government, largely from the northeast, who wield most of the power regardless of who is in the White House. Most people are unaware of the existence of this “legitimate Mafia.” Yet the power of the Establishment makes itself felt from the professor who seeks a foundation grant, to the candidate for a cabinet post or State Department job. It affects the nation’s policies in almost every area. Roosevelt added that this group’s goal is “a One World Socialist state governed by ‘experts’ like themselves.” For more than a century ideological extremists at either end of the political spectrum have seized upon well-publicized incidents such as my encounter with Castro to attack the Rockefeller family for the inordinate influence they claim we wield over American political and economic institutions. Some even believe we are part of a secret cabal working against the best interests of the United States, characterizing my family and me as “internationalists” and of conspiring with others around the world to build a more integrated global political and economic structure — one world, if you will. If that’s the charge, I stand guilty, and I am proud of it. Two major means the establishment employs for controlling government policy: (1) through its influence within the two major parties and the mass media, it can usually assure that both the Republican and Democratic presidential candidates will be its own hand-picked men; (2) by stacking presidential cabinets with CFR members at key positions — especially those involving defense, finance, foreign policy, and national security — it can assure that America will move in the direction it wants. Since the council’s founding in 1921, 21 secretaries of defense or war, 19 secretaries of the treasury, 17 secretaries of state, and 15 CIA directors have hailed from the Council on Foreign Relations. That is why the greatest danger of all is to allow new walls to divide us from one another. The walls between old allies on either side of the Atlantic cannot stand. The walls between the countries with the most and those with the least cannot stand. The walls between races and tribes; natives and immigrants; Christian and Muslim and Jew cannot stand. These now are the walls we must tear down.... Yes, there have been differences between America and Europe. No doubt, there will be differences in the future. But the burdens of global citizenship continue to bind us together.... In this new century, Americans and Europeans alike will be required to do more — not less. Partnership and cooperation among nations is not a choice; it is the one way, the only way, to protect our common security and advance our common humanity. Obama had only been president for a little over two months when he traveled to Europe for a series of meetings with European leaders. He attended the G20 Summit, which ended with a tentative agreement to launch a new global financial system, using as the rationale for this major step toward global government the recent Fed- and government-spawned financial meltdown. As the new U.S. administration prepares to take office amid grave financial and international crises, it may seem counterintuitive to argue that the very unsettled nature of the international system generates a unique opportunity for creative diplomacy.... Kissinger also stated on CNBC’s “Squawk on the Street”: “The president-elect is coming into office at a moment when there is upheaval in many parts of the world simultaneously.... His task will be to develop an overall strategy for America in this period when, really, a new world order can be created. It’s a great opportunity, it isn’t just a crisis.” Globalization can be an enormous force for good.... But what is also true is … we still have a 1930s regulatory system in place in most countries designed from the last great crisis, that we’ve got to update our institutions, our regulatory frameworks, so that the power of globalization is channeled for the benefit of ordinary men and women. If trends continue, however, the changes can be expected to benefit a tiny handful of the global elite, not “ordinary men and women.” Further evidence that Obama’s administration will simply continue the globalist agenda is indicated by his appointments.

wow Great article. Very detailed and the historic references were nice. It is very obvious to any one that would take the time to read this piece that the "establishment" has been and is still dominating politics in America. Thank you for breaking it down so nicely- if only this could be made more obvious to the public!! |

CFR Needs to be "Made more Obvious to The Public" Miss Murphy, I agree. You can order extra hard copies of the magazine and give them out to your friends and family. http://www.shopjbs.org/index.p...ssues.html Copy the URL on the article and post it on your FACEBOOK. e-mail your friends and send them the link. These are a few suggestions. |

Criminal Intent must be disclosed As long as we beat arounnd the bush, the majority of the public will go along with World Government quietly as they don't see the real evil intent. We must begin to show the real evil beneath the surface. Best start is 911: All of the following on youtube or internet: Barry Jennings, witness of explosives going off in Tower 7 before collapse. Professor Steve Jones, publishes scientific proof of Thermate explosives in dust at twin towers. William Rogriguez witness of explosions in Tower 1 before first plane hit. Aaron Russo states that Nick Rockeffer told him 11 months before 911 of the insider plot in order to get the oil from Iraq and a pipeline through Afganastan. Citizens complaint and petition filed with NY Attorney General in 11/04 requesting new investigation. It's all there for all to see. No more beating around the bush. |

Help - How do I validate/learn more? There are a lot of strong accusations in this article. For example: Roosevelt added that this group’s goal is “a One World Socialist state governed by ‘experts’ like themselves.” "Two other postwar institutions, the World Bank and International Monetary Fund, were technically created at the 1944 Bretton Woods Conference. But the initial planning was done by the CFR’s Economic and Finance Group, part of their wartime War and Peace Studies Project." - How do we know this? Are there any citations or evidence that could be verified to back these allegations up? I want to know more about this and would like some "reputable" sources. Not that the New American isn't reputable (not that it is either, as I just discovered it yesterday), but how do I know that the people writing for the New American aren't some wacked out hippy conspiracy theorists chasing boogey men that are the remnants of a bad acid trip? |

Convinced above & beyond Interested but not convinced, all I can say is keep learning, keep reading and keep your eyes open. I know my testimony means nothing but the more you read from many different reputable websites (of which this is one) you will find that all that you read here is the truth. What was stated in this article was all true and I have read most of these facts from many other truthful sites, although not quite as well written and historically researched. You need to watch Aaron Russo's "America:Freedom to Fascism" to start with. Another excellent source of historical facts and truth is the DVD "The Money Masters". Start with those two (Masters is quite long, about 3.5 hours) and they will lead you to other well documented venues. Hope this helps.....Michael |

Council on Foreign Relations The unfortunate thing for those under, say, 55, is that unlike the generations before them, they have no base of reference or clear sense of history. For the past 30 years or so, our youth have not studied history to any degree, or if they have, it's been watered down and skewed beyond recognition (revisionist history) and they certainly haven't learned it through personal observation of mainstream media (fake news and propaganda). It's perfectly understandable the two posters above don't know what to believe. For those of us who do know because we are older than 55, the above article speaks for itself. Yes, references would be nice, but Perloff's well-written article is expository in nature, intended to inform, not lay the groundwork for new theory. What Perloff says is nothing new: any number of books and a wealth of credible and reliable information and documentation is available to substantiate the author's claims. We oldtimers well recall much of this. For the younger ones who don't have an independent recollection of "how it was" and didn't get it in school, you'll have to go digging for confirmation of Perloff's points indepently. Let's hope you do. |

Stick It Where The Sun Don't Shine! The Council On Foreign Relations is simply an Elitist extension of the other organized globalist mafia crime syndicate like Trilateral Commission, Bilderberg Group, IMF,WHO,Federal Reserve! They are stealing, looting and committing High Treason on and collapsing America by design with damaging legislation as well, trying to destroy America! They need to be brought to justice and I pray to God through Jesus Christ that he will help us to do just that! |

Read and Learn Interested but not convinced, If you really are, read the seminal work on the subject: The Creature from Jekyll Island - A Second Look at the Federal Reserve by G Edward Griffin It's the most cited and documented book you will ever read. The elites don't fear us. They laugh at us. They hide in plain site. While we play our petty political games of left and right they steal our wealth, our lives, and our souls. If you don't take the time to read, at minimum take an hour to listen: http://video.google.com/videop...5528&hl=en |

How Do I Validate The CFR is the power behind the power, the steering committee, made up of 4300 members. These members continually rotate in and out of both Repub and Democrat administrations, the one party system. As Paul Revere mentioned, the top of the hierarchy are the Bilderbergs, next powerful Trilateral under 200 members, splitting off to the Royal Institute of Affairs(Brittan) and the CFR (USA) in order to achieve world government under the United Nations of which the WHO and the IMF are branches. A good read is John McManus book the Insiders, it's 100 pages covering the last five Presidential administrations with extensive notes at the end of each chapter for documentation. An additional 60 page appendix included. Softcover about $5.00 from JBS |

The Insiders: Architects of the New World Order Dale, I agree. John McManus' book is also good. An easy read. The lastest one I have is a 2004 edition. I've had my sons read it. |

explain to me why exactly would a one world government be so bad? As long as its leaders were democratically elected and its institutions were transparent couldn't a lot of problems be solved through global cooperation? |

... A very good book to read, which lays the foundation of the New World Order in even more documented fashion, is "Pawns In The Game" by a U.S. Navy officer. You probably can get it at the John Birch Society web site. I believe it was published by Western Islands, which was the publishing arm of the John Birch Society in the 1970s. |

With the internet today we can wake up more americans than ever before. lets all go to work and get the job done. We can win, it just take a little work, a little time, very lettle effert. We can win |

... If the topics of central bank integration and the establishment of a single medium of global financial exchange would be of interest, there is a publication that was produced last year by the Committee on Payment and Settlement Systems (CPSS) at the Bank for International Settlements in Basel, Switzerland. The Chairman of the Committee at that time, Tim Geithner, has since left and has been replaced by a new Chairman, William Dudley of the New York Fed. There has also been an addition of 9 new central bank members in the CPSS bringing the total membership to 23. The paper/proposal is included as part of CPSS Publication No 83 under "Comments, Kenneth Young (USA)." The link to the publication is at http://www.bis.org/publ/cpss83.htm and the link to the .pdf file of comments is at http://www.bis.org/publ/cpss83comm.pdf. The paper/proposal to the Group of Experts at the CPSS may provide a bit of insight as to why earlier this year there were so many international calls for a new Bretton Woods conference and a new global currency. |

During his presidential campaign, Barack Obama consistently promised Americans “change.” Such promises aren’t new to the voting public.
