In the spirit of full disclosure, however, the Tea Party has suffered a few notable electoral defeats. Illinois was the site of two Tea Party failures: that of Patrick Hughes in the GOP senatorial primary and Adam Andrzejewski in the corresponding gubernatorial race. Most recently (and heartbreaking to constitutionalists nationwide) there was the story of the hard-fought gubernatorial race in Texas where Debra Medina finished a distant third (18 percent) in the Republican primary to a couple of establishment mainstays despite a promising start and strong homestretch polling numbers. Where's Hostettler? May I ask why John Hostettler, former Congressman and current Senate candidate in Indiana, is not on this list? surely he deserves to be. And running against Dan Coats, the GOP establishment anointee, Hostettler needs our support. |

endorsements While looking at the endorsements, I am dissppointed that you have chosen to endorse a candidate that is or recently was a board member for the Sierra Club. Carl Bruning of Larimer County Colorado, was elected as a board member of the Sierra Club a year ago. That is the club that endorsed Democrats across the board. I would think you would investigate the candidates a little more before making your choices. |

Carl Bruning Here is Carl Bruning's response to the previous post. "Please know that I am not on the Sierra Club executive board, having resigned last September (2009). I got on the board for several months, to be the Republican voice there. I argued for "common sense" and "free market" solutions. I strongly opposed "cap & trade", and challenged four CSU professors to defend their support (in front of ~500 attendees at the CSU Lory Student Center ). I wrote a great op-ed in the Coloradoan opposing the Copenhagen treaty too. If we had more Republicans on the Sierra Club board, we could challenge their way of thinking. And I am strongly opposed to the UN. I believe that Congress should follow the Constitution, and declare war if needed, as required by the Constitution. Hope this info is helpful... " Cheers, CarlB |

Mr. Jaynee Germond has been a Tea Party member since before the group had a formal name. She has been running for office as a strict Constitutionalist for at least the last two years, as long as I have known her. All of her contributions for her campaign have been from ordinary people, not big monied interests. Her opponent has been hiding in his South-West Oregon "Institute," while Jaynee has been doing the work organizing Oregonians against governmental encroachment for the past two years. She is not a "Slick" politician, she is a strict Constitutionalist. Vier her website: http://www.Germond2010.com and meet a lady who is truely for WE THE PEOPLE. Thank you. |

A recent poll conducted by Republican pollster Tony Fabrizio indicated that 41 percent of Americans have a favorable opinion of the Tea Party Movement. This support is manifest in the influential role played by Tea Party activists in the defeat of Governor Jon Corzine in New Jersey, the landslide election of Governor Bob McDonnell in Virginia, and most recently and visibly, Scott Brown’s historic victory in the special election in Massachusetts to fill the seat left vacant by the passing of Senator Edward Kennedy. To varying degrees, all of these men owe their success to the skill, spirit, and stamina of the men and women of the Tea Party Movement.
