Legitmate Study? I remember when this was originally claimed. They even force a commercial be put on Super Bowl Sunday about it. The problem is that it did not exist. How are we to know the legitimacy of this study as they have a habit of only asking about female victims, never the male victims who get beaned with a weapon by an angry woman who wants to man to get up and do something for her during the game? Time's Up All the studies, education and awareness campaigns over the last 20 years have not produced much in the way of proactively responding to domestic violence. Not many solutions are forthcoming from the activists, non profits and organizations formed to combat the rising numbers of intimate partner homicides and family annihilations. Society tends to look at domestic violence as a "family affair" and not the crime that it is, stuffing heads in the sand because it's too difficult to deal with. Susan Murphy-Milano, who has been in the trenches for the last 20 years dealing with high risk and dangerous cases, has written a new book, coincidentally titled, "Time's Up: A Guide on How to Leave an Abusive and Stalking Relationship." Within the pages of this book are step by step instructions for victims to take to keep themselves safe while leaving. If any of your readers are being abused, please go to her website www.susanmurphymilano.com and order a copy. I'm not telling this to sell books, but to save lives. |

Your tax dollars at work: “The National Institutes of Health spent $314,613 over two years on a study that determined that family violence increases about three times as much on the Fourth of July as it does after the local NFL team suffers an ‘upset’ loss,”
