Globovision President Guillermo Zuloaga was detained by the military Thursday, March 25, for “offending” the Venezuelan tyrant and spreading “false information” during comments made at an Inter American Press Association gathering in Aruba. Zuloaga reportedly recounted the story of Chavez’ forces opening fire on protestors. He also complained of a lack of press freedom while attacking Chavez’ efforts to shut down media outlets which did not parrot the party line. He owns the only anti-Chavez TV station that still exists in Venezuela — all of the others have already been shut down, including the popular RCTV earlier this year and over 30 critical radio stations. ... Ms. Hernandez wrote in her comment that Chavez is no tyrant. He nationalized the oil companies, is shutting down radio and television stations, is imprisoning his critics without due process, he has devalued the country's money, he tried to change the constitution to make him president for life, he embraces Castro and looks upon him and other brutal dictators as his heroes, he is involved in smuggling illegal drugs into the United States, he lives well while his people's standard of living is plummeting, he denounces the United States at every opportunity even though we're foolish enough to continue to buy is Citgo gasoline, and he has screwed up his country's economy so badly that they are wanting for electricity and many basic necessities. He may not be a full blown tyrant yet, but he's definitely a communist in word and deed. |

IF YOU CAN'T HANDLE OPPOSITION... If a leader can't handle opposition, he should get out of public service. If the only way to handle criticism is to get rid of the person who said something you don't want to hear, then eventually you will become a lone man in the garden of eden and you will be a leader of no one. |

this tragedy is an alarm to all First I want to thank Mr. Newman for writting this article and helping venezuelans spread the truth about what is happening in our country. Our situation saddly is very complex and I must say that very dificult to solve, we have the cubans totaly ocupying all levels of the goverment invited by the president to do so,their control is deeper by the minute, we have lost 7.000 industries from a total of 14000, almost every radio stations is in the hands of the regime, Chavez has spent every cent in expanding his so called revolution in diferent countrys and to top it all the US buys all the oil that venezuela produces so that money finances this Castro-Chavez project, how do we reverse that? it will be very dificult. When we think that venezuelans are already living the difficulties of a communist regime and there are people like Mr Newman to consider our problems, all that comes to my mind is to thank him for looking this way and helping us make people understand that Chavez is not only a menace to us but to a whole continent because this revolutionary project has a name written all over and is Fidel Castro. |

... The U.S. government could play a positive role in bringing down these regimes simply by obeying the Constitution and applying common sense. Drug money is one of the primary financiers of the “revolution,” so ending the unconstitutional federal war on drugs would immediately dry up a major source of revenue for the dictatorships and their narco-trafficking terrorist partners like the FARC |

In his latest paranoid crackdown on free speech, socialist Venezuelan “President” Hugo Chavez arrested the chief of the last critical television network as well as a popular former governor. Their alleged crimes: criticizing the regime.
haha ya Sofia because the author of this article is sending goons to your house now for criticizing him hahaha
