Rescuing the U.S. from the Brink of Socialism

The midterm elections on November 2 have pulled America back from the brink of socialism. That doesn’t mean that we have gotten rid of all of the socialist federal and state programs that have been turning America into a super nanny state. It simply means that Americans were not willing to ride over the cliff into the abyss of totalitarian government which regulates every aspect of our lives. It will give lovers of liberty two years in which to educate the American people about the dangers of totalitarianism.

In all the excitement created by the rescue of the Chilean miners, which has been called a miracle, very little recognition has been given to the American companies and individuals who were involved in the entire undertaking from the very beginning, and without which there would have been no rescue. Who were they? According to an e-mail sent to me by my good friend Edward Wagner, a Republican activist in Massachusetts, here are the facts.

NPR and Juan Williams

Sam BlumenfeldIn a way, the history of National Public Radio, now known simply as NPR, follows the slow, incremental creep of America toward socialism. Created by the Public Broadcasting Act of 1967, it was signed into law by President Lyndon Johnson, a liberal Democrat who beat Barry Goldwater in a crucial presidential race. One should not forget that it was also the Johnson administration that gave us federal funding for education, the War on Poverty, Medicare and Medicaid, and the Gun Control Act of 1968.

Lessons from Chile

Samuel L. BlumenfeldOn August 5, an accident occurred in the San Jose copper and gold mine in the town of Copiapo in northern Chile. 750,000 tons of rock collapsed, blocking the mine shaft and trapping 33 miners in their emergency refuge area more than 2,000 feet below ground. Since there was no way the men could communicate with the surface, the relatives of the miners did not know if they were dead or alive. But unbeknownst to those above ground, the miners were indeed alive.

Samuel L. Educational Freedom in Early America

Samuel L. BlumenfeldMany Americans falsely believe that there have always been government schools in our country. Some believe that compulsory public education was written into our Constitution. But nothing could be less true. The American colonies had total educational freedom.

Islamic Trojan Horse at Ground Zero

Islamic Global Jihad declared war against America on September 11, 2001, in an attack that killed nearly 3000 Americans in the Twin Towers in Manhattan, the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., and in four hijacked airliners. Had the fourth airliner succeeded in reaching Washington, it might have crashed into the White House or the Capitol with even more loss of life. But, thanks to the brave passengers on the plane, the attack was thwarted and the plane crashed in a field in Pennsylvania.

Most Americans are under the impression that Communism was invented by Karl Marx and Lenin and first practiced in the Soviet Union. The truth, however, is quite different.

The nomination of Elena Kagan to the Supreme Court by President Obama seems to ignore the democratic notion that members of the Supreme Court ought to represent a wide constituency of Americans.

There is no doubt that American educators are engaged in a criminal conspiracy to dumb-down the American people. Charlotte Iserbyt, in her definitive book, The Deliberate Dumbing Down of America, has documented the process so thoroughly that there can be no doubt about the intentions of our educators and the fact that the conspiracy is being financed by the richest liberal foundations and the federal government.
