The keynote speakers for the three-day conference are: • Arthur Robinson, Ph.D. Professor of Chemistry at the Oregon Institute of Science and Medicine. Among many other duties, Dr. Robinson directs the “Petition Project” that has obtained the signatures of more than 31,000 scientists, including over 9,000 with Ph.D.s, explicitly opposing the hypothesis of “human-caused global warming.” The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic, and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State. For more information about the conference, see the Heartland Institute’s webpage on the subject.

Where the debate? I didn't read a single word challenging the author of this article. does it mean that you don't have any arguments, could it? Now really, Mr. or Ms. PDB, don't you know that Rockefeller money and Ford foundation money funds the enviromental groups. Rockefeller got rich off oil didn't he? I bet you were a fan of Fred Flintstone. Maybe you still are? But everyone knows that there weren't any six shooters in bedrock. |

... PDB, I consider Darwin one of the greatest scientists, I am convinced that smoking increases the risk of cancer manifold, and the earth is round and about 4.7 billion years old. But I consider CO2 a godsend fertilizer for our earth's vegetation and an increase of its concentration through fossil fuel burning an unintentional blessing even if it has a warming effect on our climate. And I am politically left of centre. So I am not your perceived stereotypical climate skeptic. You are parroting the same platitudes one gets sick of reading on Desmogblog or hears from others sources that are funded by or have connections with the Suzuki Foundation. If you have the intellectual capacity to come up with some valid comments and not just ad hominem rants then I might reconsider my low opinion of you. Try to read any of Prof. Lindzen's papers and you might learn something. By the way could you please sign your posts with your real name rather than hiding behind some capital letters? |

For those interested in the actual consensus Please see: http://www.logicalscience.com/...susD1.htm And to understand what Global Warming is: http://www.realclimate.org Look for the "Start Here" option at the top of Real Climate's webpage and spend a month or two getting familiar with actual research. |

... With the media at large is saying that the science is settled and there is virtually no scientific disagreement about AGW, it's refreshing to see there really is an active debate. For those who do believe in human caused climate change, ask yourself this, "What if they are wrong?" |

... Mark Getting your info from realclimate is like getting it from the National Enquirer. Computer models are not evidence and all real world observations contradict the weak AGW hypothesis. You've been had pal. Mark Whitney Sandy,Utah |

Conference co-sponsorship "the expected 1,000 attendees from across the globe are living, visual proof that such a claim is merely an excuse to avoid debate." I think I'll start a new free-market think-tank with exactly 20 people, called "Coalition for Research on American Prosperity", so that I can enjoy the, um, benefits of being a conference co-sponsor: http://tinyurl.com/aarynt -- bi |

... So if you don't have the science to back up your point of view, you can just create your own conference and fake journals. The global warming contrarian movement is quickly walking down the same path as AIDS-deniers and homeopaths. |

... CLIMATE CHANGE (formerly "Global Warming") WHY THE NAME CHANGE? Remember just a few short years ago when the Eco prophet Al(Mr. Ozone) Gore was featured in the world renowned "blockbuster" hit film AN INCONVIENT TRUTH. How funny that in a very short span that this scam artist and his alarmist chicken littles have just magically disappared from the scene. I guess even God has a sense of humor when even some of his conferences and meetings were cancelled because of extreme cold weather. God definitely has a way of humbling the proud, doesn't he? Well back to this subject of climate change(global warming);the founder of the Weather Channel had it right when he infamously said that man-made "global warming" is the biggest scam of the century. Many other scientists(at least tens of thousands of them) have specifically stated that there is little or no scientific proof. A renowned Danish scientist last year reflected the words of the Weather Channel founder when he quoted that it was "the greatest scam in the HISTORY of science". It seems like here in 2009 that the tide has turned and that this debate has "jumped the shark". But despite all this, the media, the IPCC(which gets their data from computer models) and many in academia continue to peddle this crap as if it is "settled fact". The real question is "what is the real agenda behind this and pushing this soviet-style propaganda" and why? That can be answered very simply if you know the machinations and desire of those whom where the money trail leads. The New Testament of the Bible says that "Money(love of)is the root of all evil" which is true and has been proven so for centuries in the history of mankind. Another quote that very much applies here is the quote of 19th Century historian Lord Acton who says "Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely". When it comes to the real motives of those financiers behind this whole scam both of these truths come into play. |

German Propaganda Archive It's a hopeless quest, but I'm trying to discourage that Goebbels quotations, which is almost certainly a fabrication. It's used on over 14,000 Internet pages — but no one ever gives a source. See the URL for my page on the subject. |

The Second International Conference on Climate Change sponsored by the Heartland Institute of Chicago will be held March 8-10 at the Marriott Marquis in New York City. While the mainstream media continues to parrot the claim of Al Gore and the UN’s IPCC that “the science is settled” regarding global warming, the expected 1,000 attendees from across the globe are living, visual proof that such a claim is merely an excuse to avoid debate.
