America is at a crossroads. Yes, we’ve made gains — but the forces of globalism, radicalism, and creeping tyranny are regrouping fast.
The fight isn’t over. Now is the time to double down.
That’s why The New American is expanding our arsenal of red-pill journalism with bold new initiatives. But to succeed, we need you.
This is more than a magazine — it’s a movement. A weapon of truth in an age of deception. With your help, we’ll stay ahead of the curve and keep educating, warning, and waking up Americans — and patriots across the globe.
As a thank you, for standing with us, we’re offering a token of appreciation, thoughtfully matched to your level of support.
Dear Patriot,
What a difference a year makes! In the last 12 months, the American political landscape has shifted dramatically. In the summer of 2024, presidential candidate Donald Trump was nearly assassinated — twice. Thousands of J6 protesters were languishing in prison. America’s borders were wide open, and millions of newly arrived illegal immigrants were unraveling the social fabric of our cities and towns. President Biden himself was suffering obvious cognitive decline. And the legacy media and powerful tech companies were engaged in a well-coordinated campaign of mass censorship and propaganda directed against patriotic Americans.
This year, things are different, at least on the surface. Following the inauguration of President Trump, we witnessed the long-overdue pardoning of the J6 political prisoners, and the immediate end to the mass illegal immigration deliberately enabled by Harris, Mayorkas, and others. The era of anti-Trump lawfare came to an abrupt end, and the DOGE commission began making serious recommendations about cutting the size and cost of the federal government. Trump has already laid off many thousands of overpaid federal workers and terminated lots of wasteful and unconstitutional government spending, including some foreign aid.
In a word, some good things have been happening, and the American public, more than at any time in living memory, seems thirsty for freedom from the twin shackles of federal taxation and regulation. Trump has even floated the idea of getting rid of the IRS and the federal income tax, once the new tariff regime — which has supposedly raked in hundreds of billions of dollars already — is on a firmer footing.
And yet, there have also been disappointments galore. In June, Trump inserted America into a Middle Eastern war not of our making, without even consulting Congress. In July, the “Big, Beautiful Bill,” yet another deficit-raising omnibus monstrosity, was passed. One of the few dissenting voices against the bill, Kentucky congressman and staunch constitutionalist Thomas Massie, has become the target of a petty, mean-spirited campaign by Trump to oust him in next year’s primaries. And of course, there’s the Epstein debacle, where Trump has been mocking and insulting anyone skeptical of the Epstein suicide narrative, lumping the supposed Epstein conspiracy theories with the Russiagate hoax.
In other words: Patriotic Americans should be pleased at the real progress we are seeing in restoring Americanist values in some areas — but we have a long way to go to restore our constitutional republic. As genuinely patriotic and pro-America as Trump appears to be in many respects, he is not a strict constitutionalist, and neither are many of those who support him.
And there are storm clouds on the horizon. Everyone knows exactly what will happen if the Democrats retake the House next year: They will immediately resume the lawfare against Trump, and try to gin up some new scandal to justify yet another impeachment. They will do everything they can to reverse Trump’s withdrawal from globalist institutions, to reinstate thousands of federal bureaucrats, and to re-open the borders to new waves of illegal immigrants. And that’s only a small foretaste of what the radical Left has in store for America the moment it regains full control of Washington.
None of this is new to our veteran subscribers, who are well aware of the cunning plans of evil conspirators working to overthrow our republic. America’s domestic enemies may have been dealt an electoral setback, but they are already hard at work trying to bring Trump and his supporters into the globalist and socialist fold — or, barring that, bring about some great catastrophe to discredit him once and for all. In the first Trump term, it was the Covid pandemic that gave Trump’s enemies the political cover they needed to engineer the theft of the 2020 elections. What will it be this time around? A financial crisis like no other? World War III? Civil unrest on a scale not seen since the 1860s? Or perhaps a comprehensive “polycrisis” designed to scare people into believing that the world will end unless the old order is restored? We don’t know for sure what’s coming, but we believe the time is short and the opportunities — at least for now — are greater than ever.
We at The New American are redoubling our efforts to keep pace with — and, wherever possible, to get in front of — the dizzying pace of current events. We are currently launching a series of new initiatives, including a new weekly review of current news and a powerful new monthly magazine format packed with deeper investigative content from a range of top-tier contributors, some familiar and some brand new. Let me tell you a little more about what we’re doing.
Early this year, we launched a new weekly news digest with rapid response coverage of breaking stories — including many that the legacy media refuse to touch. This news brief, Insider Report, is compiled and edited by William F. Jasper, and includes contributions from many of our other writers. It is emailed every Friday to all of our subscribers. It hearkens back to a long-discontinued publication, The Review of the News, that was designed to complement our other publications with a weekly take on rapidly developing current events. The Insider Report similarly complements The New American’s more in-depth analysis with weekly coverage and up-to-date takes on the news that matters.
In July of this year, The New American transitioned from our biweekly format of many years to a larger monthly format. The monthly format will allow for more in-depth analysis, a more creative, reader-friendly layout, and, overall, a higher-quality product befitting our unique mission as “the red pill publication of record.” We are also aggressively recruiting high-caliber new contributors, including such notable figures as Michael Boldin, founder of the Tenth Amendment Center; Tom DiLorenzo, bestselling author, historian, economist, and president of the Mises Institute; Solari founder and former Reagan administration official Catherine Austin Fitts; and Joel Skousen, publisher of the influential weekly World Affairs Brief. We have made significant changes to the layout of the print magazine, including more innovative graphics and formatting and the inclusion of “At A Glance” bullet-point summaries of feature articles for reader convenience.
At the same time, we are in the midst of a comprehensive rebuild of TNA’s website, to bring it up to the very latest standards of layout and performance. As with all modern enterprises, our website is our calling card, the first point of contact with both our subscribers and those learning about The New American for the first time. We will soon be rolling out a new version of the website that will be much easier to use and will even feature AI-assisted translation to a number of languages, greatly enhancing our international outreach. We are also developing a state-of-the-art mobile app for faster and more convenient access and distribution of timely information.
Over the next year, we will be recruiting more online contributors to stay abreast of breaking news and to ensure that all important stories are covered online, informed by our Americanist perspective and insights, as soon as they occur. We will also continue to provide more of our unique brand of investigative journalism, from Alex Newman’s interviews on issues that matter (but are not always covered in the legacy media), to Rebecca Terrell’s and Paul Dragu’s pathbreaking investigative journalism.
As publisher of The New American, let me just share with you a little of my vision for this storied publication. As I already mentioned, I want The New American to be branded as “the red pill publication of record.” What does this mean? There are plenty of magazines, journals, podcasts, and networks in the “conservative” or “right wing” ecosystem, so to speak. Some of them are popular and influential, with hundreds of thousands of followers and subscribers, while others cater to more specialized niche markets. But all of them — or at least, the legitimate ones — are ultimately the offspring of The New American and The John Birch Society, whether or not they acknowledge it. Some of them, to be sure, are honest enough to give us credit where it’s due. Alex Jones, who has recently conducted a number of interviews with Bill Jasper, our senior editor, has stated repeatedly and emphatically that we (the JBS) were the first to call attention to the conspiratorial enemy; to the dangers of UN entanglement; to America’s semisecret ruling establishment; to the machinations of the Federal Reserve; and to many other issues, once deemed fringe, that have become mainstream right-wing talking points.
Nowadays, everyone wants to end the Fed and the income tax. Everyone is a skeptic of the United Nations and the rest of the globalist network, from the World Economic Forum to the Bilderbergers. Most conservatives, even in Congress and on Fox News, are talking about the differences between republics and democracies. And of course, everyone on the Right now seems to grasp that a “Deep State” is really calling the shots in Washington and on Wall Street.
And whether they admit it or not, we were there first on these and many other issues. And none of these would have ever become mainstream had it not been for The New American’s decades of “red-pilling” the American public — since long before the term “red pill” was even coined, in fact!
But the need for a “red pill publication of record” has not diminished. With all of the news organizations and online commentariat still swimming in our wake, we need to continue to diagnose and remedy emerging threats to our liberty, even as the ever-protean enemy reinvents itself and attacks on new fronts. We are not merely passive observers, but instead educators and defenders of timeless truths.
And the challenges continue to mount. For example, the second Trump administration has led many on the Right to believe that they can take a well-deserved breather after four years of battling the radical Left. But Trump and the GOP in Congress are not always sticklers for the Constitution. Trump’s well-intentioned but unconstitutional regime of presidential tariffs is a case in point. We ought to go back to a tariff-based federal revenue system, to be sure. But that power, like all other revenue-related authority, is not the president’s to wield, but instead belongs to Congress. We were the first major publication to point this out in the early weeks of Trump’s second presidency — not to be gadflies, but merely to point out the correct way to restore tariffs, which is by congressional legislation.
Or consider the recent GENIUS Act and its follow-up, the CLARITY Act, which are cast even by “conservatives” as supplying needed clarity on the legal status of stablecoins and cryptocurrencies generally. But guess what? These two bills, aggressively supported by Trump and most GOP congressmen, are really a sneaky way to establish government control and surveillance over the crypto sector, and will end up enshrining many of the freedom-eroding effects associated with Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs) — which everyone on the Right professes to hate! The New American has been following these two unwelcome pieces of legislation, and warning of the novel dangers of a federal takeover of the crypto sector. These dangers did not even exist decades ago, when our top worry was opposing the creation of a single world currency (that danger is still with us, too, by the way!).
We are also proud of our track record on the Covid crisis, where we were often the first publication to challenge the aggressively promoted false narratives on lockdowns, vaccines, and the supposed natural origins of the novel coronavirus. We have interviewed many highly credentialed Covid dissenters, such as Dr. Robert Malone. Recently, we were granted privileged access to the Grace Schara Covid-related wrongful-death civil trial, and, in cooperation with Children’s Health Defense, we livestreamed the multiday event, garnering many hundreds of thousands of views.
With these and many other novel issues, we are proud to be among the first to sound the voice of warning. And we continue our track record of regular interviews with prominent congressmen such as Thomas Massie.
But our enemies — the enemies of freedom—are well organized, well-funded, and more determined than ever to annul the Constitution and extinguish our freedoms. In order to truly turn the tide, we need to do more, and that’s where you come in. Our education campaign, while starting to bear spectacular, history-altering results, has not yet reached critical mass. Although understanding the problems besetting our nation is broader than it has been in many generations, it is still too shallow. While increasing numbers of Americans are being red pilled, too few are still motivated to act, other than casting a vote for president every four years. More and deeper understanding is needed, and it falls on us to provide it.
By recruiting more world-class writers and researchers, by massively upgrading our website, by creating an app for the smart phone generation, and by elevating the print magazine to a more in-depth, more reader-friendly format, we are investing in a set of educational tools that will reach more people and touch more hearts than ever before. Given the pace of modern events and the scale and complexity of the threats to our freedom and to our entire civilization, we must go big or go home. Our country depends on it.
Will you join us in making history? As we said in last fall’s appeal, we need to be the generation that turns this tide. We can no longer afford the luxury of complacence. How many tsunamis of radicalism are we going to permit to sweep over the land, hoping each time that it won’t wash away our civilization root and branch? Do we really want to find out what the radical Left will inflict on us the next time the fickle voting public decides to sit out an election?
We’ve just had an early taste of the censorship, mass arrests, lawfare, and social unrest that radical Left and amoral conspirators want to impose on decent Americans. Do we really want to give them another go-round, two years or four years from now? Or do we want to remember the horrifying Biden years as an aberration, an ugly jolt on the bumpy road back to constitutional government?
Since our last appeal, your support has helped us to make a lot of progress. The New American now has its highest-ever production value, and we’re just getting started. Our financials have improved dramatically this year. We’re reaching an ever-larger audience and delivering the red pill journalism that matters.
We have launched a new era at The New American, and we need your help to meet the challenges in a world of AI, cryptocurrencies, and the constantly changing, hyper-confrontational political and social landscape. Now, more than ever, it’s critical that we grow rapidly to confront the unprecedented threats facing our country.
Your support will help to ensure that we continue delivering independent, red-pill journalism. It will enable us to reach even more Americans through our growing online and social-media platforms. Specifically, your donation will be applied to:
- Recruiting additional top-notch writers who are renowned experts in their respected fields.
- Expanding our reach into other countries, such as Argentina, Italy, and Poland, where the cause of freedom has reached critical mass. This will be made possible by new translation features that will enable people from these and many other countries to read all of our materials in their native languages.
- Improving all of our digital platforms for state-of-the-art outreach.
- Increasing our ability to carry out pathbreaking, original investigative journalism.
The fight for truth is eternal, and your contributions are more vital than ever. Will you stand up and be counted with us at The New American? Together, we will ensure that freedom does not perish — and that future generations will be grateful for our actions today.
Thank you for your support and for your commitment to liberty and truth.
With sincerest thanks,
Dr. Steven Bonta, Publisher
