More Covert War Against Iran

The United States has escalated its covert war against Iran, the New York Times reported on January 10. The article reported that the program involved efforts to disrupt the country’s nuclear program, including covert attempts to “penetrate Iran’s nuclear supply chain abroad, along with new efforts, some of them experimental, to undermine electrical systems, computer systems and other networks on which Iran relies."

But the program the New York Times outlined was only part of the escalating U.S. war against Iran. Seymour Hersh reported in the New Yorker back in June 2008 that President Bush had requested $400 million per year for covert operations against Iran, which included funding for terrorist organizations against Iran in an effort to create regime “destabilization.”

Even as far back as 2004, the Christian Science Monitor reported that the United States had begun subsidizing Marxist MEK terrorists for an eventual terror campaign against Iran. And the United States has indeed trained and funded MEK terrorists for strikes against Iran, including bringing them over to the United States for training in Nevada.

That the Bush administration would choose the MEK is revealing. The left-wing magazine Foreign Policy put it best: “[The] Iranian group has killed American civilians, allied itself with Saddam Hussein, and holds a spot on the State Department’s terrorist watch list. So why might it become America’s newest friend in the Middle East?” Here is a Marxist organization that was too far left for the Clinton administration, which listed MEK as a terrorist organization in 1997. But now they are worthy as allies, according to Bush administration policy.

President Bush said after September 11, 2001 at a joint session of Congress: “Either you are with us, or you are with the terrorists.” In the so-called “war on terror” today, "we" and the terrorists are one.

Amazing. If Iran decides to march over to Israel and America tumbles into economic chaos like I think it almost certainly will, then there is gonna be trouble. We oughtta stop meddling and fire any politicians who support or facilitate it. No more American tax dollars for the Bin Ladens of the world!
