More than 200 NFL players knelt during the National Anthem at their Sunday games, showing disrespect for our flag and insulting millions of patriotic Americans. Meanwhile, a St. Louis cop who called Black Lives Matter “domestic terrorists” and the “Klan with a tan” in a Facebook post is being investigated by internal affairs.
Yahoo! News provided details on the officer’s woes, writing last Wednesday:
On Saturday morning, the day after a white former St. Louis cop was acquitted of shooting a black motorist, the officer posted the comments as a meme on a stranger’s Facebook page, and did not attempt to conceal his name. Social media users quickly connected him to his job through a Google search and the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department launched an investigation, the Belleville News-Democrat reported.
The officer posted the meme — a picture of a Black Lives Matter rally with the words “The Klan with a Tan” and “Domestic Terrorists” on it — on the Facebook page of Lisa Clancy, a resident of St. Louis, who said she had attended protests of the Jason Stockley not guilty verdict because she wanted her son “to live in a world where he doesn’t fear those who are different than him.”
Clancy told Newsweek she was “frazzled and taken aback” when she saw the officer’s comment on her public post, especially since she wasn’t Facebook friends with the officer.
The different attitudes toward the kneeling, overpaid NFL brats and the St. Louis policeman reflect the moral inversion characterizing our age. The football players are protesting at work, on their employers’ dime and time, something no one has a right to do (lamentably, NLF owners are now enabling this unpatriotic behavior). The officer posted his comments, presumably, on his own time, yet he’s being investigated.
In fairness, it’s not unheard of for many jobs to have “morality clauses.” Yet far from being immoral, the officer was essentially correct in his characterization of BLM. As the American Spectator wrote in August, “Black Lives Matter is at least indirectly responsible for the murders of eight law enforcement officers in Dallas and Baton Rouge last year.” Moreover, wherever BLM congregates, the Spectator further informed, “it sure seems like beatings and property destruction are sure to follow.”
In fact, BLM has worn its terroristic, anti-police banners openly. Consider that the group conducted a 2014 NYC march in which rabble-rousers shouted, “Want do we want? Dead cops! When do we want them? Now!” The next year, mere hours after the August shooting of a Texas deputy, BLM held a march to the gates of the Minnesota State Fair during which protesters chanted, “Pigs in a blanket, fry ’em like bacon” (video below).
None of this is any surprise, however, as BLM is a movement built on lies — namely, that black lives are, as organization co-founder Alicia Garza put it, “uniquely, systematically, and savagely targeted by the state.” I refuted this two years ago, writing:
While this has become a narrative echoed by politicians and pundits, as black columnist Larry Elder pointed out last year, “In the last several decades the numbers of blacks killed by cops are down nearly 75 percent.” Of course, this only tells us about blacks killed yesterday vs. today, but what about blacks vs. whites? As Elder also informed, “In 2012, according to the CDC, 140 blacks were killed by police. That same year 386 whites were killed by police. Over the 13-year period from 1999 to 2011, the CDC reports that 2,151 whites were killed by cops — and 1,130 blacks were killed by cops.”
Yet given that whites outnumber blacks in the United States approximately 5 to 1, that 2 to 2.5 times as many whites would be killed by police is no surprise. So rates must be examined. And as I reported in May, “Relative to whites, blacks are shot by police at a lower rate than their involvement in crime would suggest. As sociologist and ex-cop Professor Peter Moskos writes, ‘adjusted for the homicide rate, whites are 1.7 times more likely than blacks [to] die at the hands of police. Adjusted for the racial disparity at which police are feloniously killed, whites are 1.3 times more likely than blacks to die at the hands of police.’” And, reinforcing the last point, I wrote, “Black suspects are as likely to shoot at police as to be shot at.… According to FBI statistics, 46 percent of those who’ve murdered police officers during the last decade have been black.”
But why would, contrary to the Obama/BLM line, police be more likely to shoot whites? Perhaps it’s because they’re actually more willing to.
This was the determination of a study out of Washington State University (WSU) published online last year in the Journal of Experimental Criminology. It found, wrote WSU News, that while participants “were more likely to feel threatened in scenarios involving black people … when it came time to shoot, participants were biased in favor of black suspects, taking longer to pull the trigger against them than against armed white or Hispanic suspects.”
There would be less unrest if media widely reported the above truths; instead, they agitate and rub resentments raw with deceitful, incitant reportage. A good example is the following line, some paragraphs down in a Sunday Washington Post piece: “It’s been three years since a white police officer in the nearby suburb of Ferguson, Mo., killed an unarmed black 18-year-old named Michael Brown, setting off a wave of protests and a police response that captured worldwide attention.”
Reading the above, the uninformed (no small group) would think Brown was a hapless, innocent victim of vile police bigotry. Yet it has been definitively established that he was a thug who, after violently robbing a convenience store, savagely attacked the Ferguson officer, forcing him to shoot in self-defense. Talk about fake news.
So, in fairness, perhaps BLM is no more terroristic than the U.S. media themselves.
