Obama’s State of the Union: Toddler Care, Gun Control, Executive Orders

Written by

President Obama unloaded a leftist laundry list of new federal spending and high-handed executive decrees in his February 12 State of the Union address, while at the same time supporting no year-over-year spending cuts to federal programs. He announced plans to implement gun control, a national minimum wage of $9 per hour, environmental executive order decrees on carbon emissions, more education spending, federal pre-school care, and many other programs.

Obama claimed during the address, “Let me repeat — nothing I’m proposing tonight should increase our deficit by a single dime. It’s not a bigger government we need, but a smarter government that sets priorities and invests in broad-based growth.” But in reality, the president made no provision for how all these new and expanded government programs would be funded. Moreover, he even campaigned against the spending cuts Congress has already passed, specifically the looming "sequester" spending cuts, which he labeled “a really bad idea.”

The lack of numbers behind Obama's claims caused open scorn in the CNN newsroom among all but Democratic Party functionaries, and Cincinnati television investigative journalist Ben Swann posted on Facebook page, “He just explained he doesn't want sequestration cuts, so where does this $ come from?”

The president definitely opposed additional spending cuts in any government programs:

Most Americans — Democrats, Republicans and Independents — understand that we can't just cut our way to prosperity. They know that broad-based economic growth requires a balanced approach to deficit reduction, with spending cuts and revenue, and with everybody doing their fair share.

Though Obama effectively closed the door on spending cuts, a determined Republican House of Representatives alone has the constitutional power to shut the spending spigot, whether the President and the Senate like it or not.

In his remarks that pooh-poohed spending cuts, Obama also noted that the federal government should be planning the American economy: "Let’s be clear: deficit reduction alone is not an economic plan." Of course centralized economic planning has a long history of failure, never creating economic growth. Yet the free market unchained from government planning has a long history of strong growth.

Obama continued:

A growing economy that creates good, middle-class jobs — that must be the North Star that guides our efforts.... Our first priority is making America a magnet for new jobs and manufacturing.

Perhaps the most radical proposal from the president was the idea that the federal government would create a national child care program to separate toddlers from their parents. He told Congress,

Today, fewer than three in 10 four-year-olds are enrolled in a high-quality preschool program. Poor kids who need help the most, this lack of access to preschool education can shadow them for the rest of their lives.

Obama concluded:

I propose working with states to make high-quality pre-school available to every child in America. Every dollar we invest in high-quality early childhood education can save more than seven dollars later on. So let’s do what works, and make sure none of our children start the race of life already behind.

The president seemed to be arguing that it's a tragedy so many children are in the full-time care of their parents for the first five years. If only those parents knew that trained government workers can manage their children better, he essentially argued, they'd eagerly place their children in the care of government bureaucrats.

Obama also warned against "climate change," claiming that he would issue executive orders on carbon emissions in the absence of a new law passed by Congress. “If Congress won’t act soon to protect future generations, I will. As long as countries like China keep going all-in on clean energy, so must we." Of course, the U.S. Constitution grants all law-making authority to Congress, and none to the president. President Obama did not outline where he obtained the constitutional authority to legislate by decree in his State of the Union address.

Hitler restructured the family through day care too. He also indoctrinated the youth via the public education system and eliminated religious instruction for children. The Nazis instituted a compulsory National Youth Day where political indoctrination took place. All children were required to attend each Sunday. Parents who failed to send their children were fined the equivalent of $300 and after the third absence; parents were subject to jail time. Hitler's 'reforms' caused tax rates to rise by 80%, health care and small business suffered. The final step to Nazi control over the populace was oppressive gun control laws resulting in manditory registration and finally confiscation.
Does this sound familiar to anyone? What can we American patriots do to stop this train wreck?

Since socialistic legislation is aimed at the death of the human race, it is also true that people will always put in power over themselves those that will kill them.

This has been a historical fact for eons.

For example, the American people have put Obama in power over them because they want him to kill them.

The only exception in the history of man was the War for Independence on the North American Continent.

Now it is back to normal, unfortunately.

Regarding the call for federal "toddler" or preschool programs, all one has to do is take a look at a study released by Obama's Department of Health and Human Services in January, 2010 showing that the federal Head Start Program is a tragic waste of money. The comprehensive preschool program created in 1965 for 3- and 4- year olds and their parents was meant to narrow the education gap between low-income students and their middle- and upper- income peers. The study found that, by the end of the first grade, children who attended Head Start are essentially indistinguishable from a control group of students who didn't. And that's after forty-five years and $166 billion later.
Even with these results, here's Obama trying to push another federal program that we, the taxpayers most likely don't want, but would be required to pay for.
Where does it end for this greedy thief?

China ? All-in on in clean energy ? Aren’t they the ones who are putting up coal-fired power plants by the thousands ? They’re the biggest polluters on earth.

Make America a magnet for new jobs and manufacturing - Not likely with the now highest corporate tax in the world, swarms of regulators and bureaucracies, that “eat out our sustenance”, dirty dealings in a phoney federal bank system, big spenders who don’t understand why the minus sign keeps showing up on their pocket calculator, so on, so forth.

Deficit reduction alone is not an economic plan - Correct. Deficit reduction is damage control. It is a last ditch effort to patch a thousand leaking holes in a submarine, after a drunken crew decided to hang wallpaper with 8" spikes, sledgehammers and chisels.

The greatest economic growth and the smartest people we ever had came when there was no public school system, only one room school houses, or home schooling, and bible verses were used to teach reading. And mom worked the home, dad worked the field. Why not encouraged more of what worked, but was lost, rather than more of the same that isn’t working.
Ah - but some want to reduce the pop, smarts & economy, not increase it - my theory goes.

The State of our Union is doubtfully strong, but you'd never know one way or the other from this information. The Constitution directs the President: "He shall from time to time give to the Congress Information of the State of the Union, and recommend to their Consideration such Measures as he shall judge necessary and expedient;..." He spent about two minutes on the former, and most of an hour on the rest.

And God helps those who help themselves, not ppl who take HIS name in vain, and sound like a robocall or some form of psychological torture. Not certainly those who lie with statistics, which is what the halfway to $4 trillion, 12 hottest years, and 1,000 lives figures are, nor those who admonish us to do as they say, but not do as they do.

HE must at least frown on those whose misguided polices drive patients out of healthcare and doctors out of business, and blame it on someone else.

Who've hawked shoddy goods and run the bait-and-switch like some shiftless salesmen.

Whose idea of growth is to evade ex post facto laws by depreciating the currency, and ignore this nation's founding promises generally.

Whose economic policies have created one financial crisis after another, and raised the price of oil and gas, homes and food. And ratcheted up inflation by indexing it to wages and government benefits.

Who've put people back to work at foreign wage levels and in make-work jobs, and forced housewives into the labor force.

Who've failed to understand that preschool has never proved cost-effective, and the only reason credentials are is because they are self-selecting. Or that Europeans generally spend two more years in school,

Who've killed innocent children around the world by remote control, and tried to rob other nations of their talented ppl.

And who've generally acted like scolds, polluted the environment with their hot air, and taken credit for what HE does.

This president doesn't look like FDR, Lyndon Johnson or Ronald Reagan, but he's just as obnoxious, maybe more so.

Obama needs to be impeached and put in jail. I'm sick and tired of this. He is a war criminal, he openly breaks his oath to the Constitution, he sends fighter planes to the Muslim Brotherhood, he sends guns to Mexican drug cartels, he lies-and now he wants your young children and your guns. ENOUGH! Any Congressman who stands by idly while all this is happening should be considered an accessory to these high crimes and treason.

"From each according to his ability, to each according to his need." (Karl Marx) Reward the recipients and penalize the producers, that is the principle of socialism, which eventually results in the death of the human race.

Let's give the demagog-in-chief a little credit here. He is correct in what he proposes won''t raise the deficit a single dime. It would raise it by trillions of dimes.
