Jury selection has begun for former President Donald Trump’s “hush money” trial, with seven jurors selected today in the Manhattan Supreme Court.

New York County District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s accuses Trump of falsely claiming that payments made to Stormy Daniels to cover up sexual allegations were payments for “legal services” to his former attorney, Michael Cohen.

Trump is facing 34 felony counts of first-degree falsifying business records, with each count being punishable by up to four years in prison.

Trump claims his trial is political persecution, stating on Truth Social this morning:

“MY TRIAL IS AN ASSAULT ON AMERICA!”
