According to GLSEN, the focus of the program will be to “increase the percentage of schools that identify and maintain ‘safe spaces’ for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) youth.” Over the next five years, the group said, it will partner with the specially selected schools “to implement a comprehensive evidence-based program to help keep LBGT students safe and healthy.”
Eliza Byard, GLSEN’s director, said it is “abundantly clear that LGBT youths’ experience of bias and violence at school contributes to significant threats to their health, academic success and psychological well-being.” She said that the CDC “is taking a critical step to ensure safe and healthy schools for LGBT youth and a stronger foundation for their future by supporting the creation of truly safe spaces where they can receive support from administrators, teachers, or other school staff. Such spaces are vital to these students’ health, success in school and life prospects.”
Among the initiatives set up by the CDC/GLSEN partnership will be a massive study of “local- and state-level anti-harassment and LGBT health promotion policies and the development of a network of educational and community-based organizations equipped and trained to support the health and well-being of LGBT students,” explained the homosexual group. GLSEN hopes that by the end of the five-year plan, it will have reached a total of 14,500 school personnel and four million students with the message of tolerance for unfettered homosexual activity.
What, exactly, will all this mean to students in these targeted schools? Linda Harvey of Mission America, a pro-family organization that monitors the efforts of homosexual activists, explained in an op-ed for World Net Daily that a “safe space,” as envisioned by GLSEN, “is a classroom, counseling office, or club area where homosexuality is always given a flashing green light.” It is in these “safe” areas that students are assured that “homosexual, bisexual and cross-dressing behaviors are good and wonderful things,” continued Harvey, “and that anyone who says otherwise is a person who probably ‘hates’ them and poses a threat to their safety.”
Thus, according to the GLSEN/CDC model, our children are “safe” if they are “prevented from hearing traditional sexual morality and accurate information about the risks and downsides of homosexuality,” continued Harvey. “They are also ‘safe’ if they never learn about the well-documented option of leaving same-sex attractions and behavior behind.” Perhaps most significantly, noted Harvey, is the absence in these “safe space” of any traditional spiritual counsel, such as scriptural teaching, “which is the biggest danger of all!”
The school districts chosen for the grants from the CDC’s Division of Adolescent and School Health (DASH) were evaluated on a variety of federal guidelines, wrote Harvey, “including such politically correct measures as whether they provide ‘services for gay, lesbian or bisexual students,’ or whether they have staff training programs for ‘gay, lesbian and bisexual’ issues.” Warned Harvey: “This is where GLSEN will plug in, convincing nurses, teachers and school counselors to bless this deviant behavior and to never, ever warn kids against it.”
Meanwhile, the very federal agency that is facilitating this dangerous “safety” came out recently with a survey confirming that homosexual behavior — particularly among males — is the single biggest transmitter of HIV — the virus the medical establishment tells us causes AIDS. According to the CDC’s own statistics for 2009, the latest time frame for which there are numbers, homosexual men account for nearly two-thirds of the approximately 50,000 new cases of HIV reported each year. By contrast, “heterosexuals accounted for 27 percent and injection drug users represented 9 percent of new infections,” reported the Associated Press on the latest CDC numbers.
According to the CDC, the still-astronomical numbers have decreased dramatically from 130,000 cases per year in the mid-1980s, when HIV and AIDS was a new phenomenon researchers were still trying to figure out. “We’ve made accomplishments in driving down the rate of new infections,” said Dr. Kevin Fenton, the CDC’s head for AIDS prevention. “The charge now is to continue that trajectory and take that 50,000 down further.”
Fenton emphasized with deep feeling that “we just cannot allow another generation of gay men to be lost to what is essentially a preventable disease.”
Which is why it is curious that the CDC is so intimately involved in helping groups like GLSEN recruit young people into what is demonstrably a dangerous and destructive lifestyle. “This is the statistical face of deviance, out-of-control lust, and desperation,” noted Harvey of the latest CDC statistics. “Most of the campaigns in this country to prevent HIV/AIDS do not take a strong stand against these unnecessary behaviors, but instead talk around them and try to teach people to manage their misbehavior better.”
Warned Harvey: “If your son or daughter is learning standard sex education at school, chances are excellent that he or she has absorbed this idea: that HIV is ‘everyone’s disease’ and that just about anyone can get it.” What they need to be told, she added, is the simple, age-old truth that “if you wait until marriage for sex — the traditional, authentic kind with one man and one woman — and remain faithful in marriage, your chances for HIV in your lifetime will be virtually zero.”
