John McManus

John McManus not only serves as publisher for TNA, but also as the president of The John Birch Society (JBS). John earned a bachelor’s degree in physics from Holy Cross College, followed by a commission in the United States Marine Corps. He served three years of active duty, after which he had a career as an electronics engineer before joining the JBS staff. John is the author of several books, including “Changing Commands: The Betrayal of America’s Military,” “Financial Terrorism: Hijacking America Under the Threat of Bankruptcy,” “William F. Buckley, Jr.: Pied Piper for the Establishment,” and “The Insiders.” He is also a frequent guest on talk shows on both radio and television.


Gary Benoit

Gary Benoit is the editor of The New American. Gary graduated magna cum laude in physics from the University of Lowell (now the University of Massachusetts — Lowell) in 1976 and joined the staff of The John Birch Society the following year. Over the years, he has held a number of positions with JBS including director of research prior to becoming editor of TNA.


William F. Jasper

William F. Jasper is the senior editor of TNA. William earned a bachelor’s degree in child psychology and education from the University of Idaho. He has a well-earned reputation as one of America’s top investigative reporters and has attended several international conferences hosted by the United Nations. He is most known for his work on the Oklahoma City bombing and its aftermath. William has also authored two books, “Global Tyranny … Step by Step” and “The United Nations Exposed.”


Kurt Williamsen


The associate editor of TNA, Kurt Williamsen is, by his own description, “a Jack of all trades, master of none.” He has worked as a lifeguard, dishwasher, landscaper, carpenter, roofer, concrete worker, shoe salesman, building products salesman, telemarketing rep, English teacher and now associate editor. He has undergraduate degrees in business administration/marketing and secondary English.


Warren Mass

Warren Mass is the web editor of TNA. Warren has worked for two major book publishers in New York City and for an entertainment industry newspaper in Los Angeles. He has written for the JBS Bulletin since 1975, Long Beach Island magazine (New Jersey) in the mid 1980s and The New American since 1986.


Joseph Kelly

Joe Kelly is the art director and production manager for The New American. Joe studied art and holds a degree in graphic design and visual communications from the Art Institute of Dallas. He is responsible for the layout, design and production of each magazine and helps with the overall look and feel of TheNewAmerican.com.


Katie Carder

Katie Carder is a graphic designer for The New American. She is a native of Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Katie graduated in May of 2012 from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art with a Graphic Design emphasis, and a Religious Studies minor. She has worked with The New American Magazine since mid 2011, mainly working on the magazine, but is also involved in other JBS projects.


Bill Hahn

Bill Hahn is the public relations and marketing manager for TNA. He has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and gained valuable PR and marketing experience in the construction and publishing industries early in his career. He has been with TNA since 2007.


Julie DuFrane

Julie DuFrane is the advertising and circulation manager for TNA. She has been employed at TNA headquarters in Appleton, Wis. since it opened in 1989. Julie owns, with her husband, a restaurant in Menasha called the WeatherVane.


Adam Muggenthaler

Adam Muggenthaler is a video producer and still photographer for TNA. He has almost a decade worth of experience having worked as an in-office and on-set producer, casting director, music supervisor and executive associate. Highly talented, Adam brings an array of valuable skills.


Jason Vincent

Jason Vincent is a photojournalist for The New American. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin—Green Bay with an emphasis in electronic media and is currently a member of the National Press Club. Jason aims to capture emotions while striving to tell the story in every picture or video he shoots.
