Astrophysicist and geoscientist Dr. Willie Soon (shown) at the Solar and Stellar Physics (SSP) Division of the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics arrived in Paris this week to blow the whistle on the United Nations global-warming hysteria.
The renowned scientist, who also serves as an astronomer at the Mount Wilson Observatory in southern California, spoke to The New American and denounced the witchhunt waged against him and other skeptics of man-made climate change.
Dr. Soon has been an especially strong advocate of the important role of the sun as a dominant influence in the natural variability of the Earth’s climate.
Because of his refusal to conform to the false “consensus” groupthink being forced on scientists, Dr. Soon has been the object of repeated attacks by the militant warmists of the major media, academia, and the alarmist environmental groups. We reported on this last year (“N.Y. Times, Greenpeace Smear Warming Skeptic Dr. Willie Soon”) after a series of smears were leveled at him. We featured in that article an imbedded video of an interview we had conducted with Dr. Soon earlier in the year at the Heartland Institute’s 9th International Climate Conference in Las Vegas, where he was honored for both his scientific achievements as well as his heroic stand for truth against the bullying of the global-warming alarmist lobby.
Dr. Soon was interviewed in Paris by The New American’s Alex Newman.
