Whistleblower: Federal Thug Behind Bundy Fiasco Had “Kill Book”

The government is in big trouble. At least it will be, if there is justice. The now-infamous standoffs in Nevada and Oregon could have ended in disaster for liberty and ranchers. And for some, such as rancher LaVoy Finicum, who was shot dead by government officials while traveling on a public highway, it did end in tragedy. But after years of terror and pain felt by the embattled Bundy family and those close to them, there may finally be a very happy ending visible on the horizon for the Nevada ranchers and for justice. It seems the tables have turned, dramatically, against the out-of-control Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and other elements of the federal bureaucracy. In fact, rather than putting the liberty-loving ranchers and their staunchest supporters behind bars for life — or even six feet under, as some Obama administration officials apparently hoped — there is now explosive evidence from a whistleblower that could put some of the rogue bureaucrats on the case in prison for extremely serious crimes.

Among other revelations, a memo by the lead BLM investigator on the case shows that a crazed, high-ranking bureaucrat in charge of the scheming kept a “kill list” of American ranchers whose death he contributed to. Others bragged about brutalizing protesters amid the infamous Bundy case, according to the whistleblower. In addition to numerous alleged violations of law and policy, federal officials involved in the imploding prosecution also exhibited religious bigotry against Mormons, as well as extreme prejudice against the Bundy family and their supporters, whistleblower Larry Wooten revealed in the memo to a high-ranking Department of Justice official. BLM officials were practically itching to instigate a violent confrontation with the ranchers and their supporters, too, the BLM agent turned whistleblower suggested. Officials also withheld exculpatory evidence, an extremely serious offense.

The behavior of U.S. government officials in the case was so outlandish and potentially even criminal that Congress and the Trump administration must investigate, lawmakers said. “All of these violations warrant an investigation by Congress, the Trump administration, and Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke,” Washington State Representative Matt Shea, a liberty-minded Republican leader who has actively followed the case, told The New American. “These people should all be fired, if this is all borne out by the investigation, but some of these players need to be prosecuted. Special Agent Wooten alleges that the Department of Justice prosecutor knew about this, and took a ‘don’t ask don’t tell’ approach to withholding exculpatory evidence. This may expand not just into an investigation of the prosecutor, but potentially even charges against them.”

Indeed, Wooten’s explosive revelations are enough to make even the most avid Big Government zealot pause for reflection. For instance, in his memo to Associate Deputy Attorney General Andrew Goldsmith, Wooten outlined what he described as “a widespread pattern of bad judgment, lack of discipline, incredible bias, unprofessionalism and misconduct, as well as likely policy, ethical, and legal violations among senior and supervisory staff at the BLM’s Office of Law Enforcement and Security.” The issues he uncovered “also likely put our agency and specific law enforcement supervisors in potential legal, civil, and administrative jeopardy,” explained Wooten, prompting headlines across America as the news spreads. It is difficult to imagine how the remaining cases could proceed at this point.

Wooten said he was told by BLM law-enforcement supervisors that BLM boss Dan Love (shown), who was a key figure in the Bunkerville showdown between the BLM and the Bundy family, had a “Kill Book.” He kept this as a “trophy” to commemorate his role in the death of various victims, Wooten said. Love, who also was accused of sending photos of his own feces and his girlfriend’s genitalia to co-workers, “in essence bragged about getting three individuals in Utah to commit suicide,” Wooten’s memo said. The out-of-control bureaucrat apparently bragged about removing evidence, as well as his ability to quash investigations into his wildly inappropriate behavior. He would tell others that “he is untouchable,” while urging his co-workers not to cooperate with investigations into his harassment, abuse, and even potential criminal activity.

Among other bizarre behaviors, Love allegedly had a doll that he would refer to using the name of one of his female Native American subordinates, calling her “his drunk little Indian,” Wooten said. There were indications of extreme bias against the Bundy family and their supporters, too, the memo suggests. And not just by Love. “My supervisor even took photographs in the secure command post area of the Las Vegas FBI Headquarters and even after he was told that no photographs were allowed, he recklessly emailed out photographs of the Arrest Tracking Wall in which Eric Parker and Cliven Bundy had X’s through their face and body,” Wooten wrote, adding that the behavior reminded him of middle school. BLM officials also routinely denigrated and ridiculed their victims, referring to the Bundys and their friends as “rednecks, retards, overweight woman with big jowls, douche bags, tractor-face, idiots, inbred, etc,” the whistleblower revealed.

There appears to have been a plot by Love and other BLM bigwigs to create a violent showdown between federal officials on one side, and the cattle ranchers and their supporters from across America on the other. On “multiple occasions,” Wooten said, former BLM Special-agent-in-charge Love ignored state and federal officials “in order to command the most intrusive, oppressive, large scale and militaristic trespass cattle impound possible.” There are also indications that the BLM perpetrated “civil rights and policy violations,” in addition to “excessive use of force.” There was almost certainly an “improper cover-up in virtually every matter” involving a particular BLM boss, who was “immune from discipline and the consequences of his actions,” Wooten revealed in his memo to authorities, adding that some officials were involved in deleting and destroying evidence of official wrongdoing. Wooten only went to the DOJ because BLM leaders refused to act on his revelations.

In a recording captured by an agent’s body camera, one BLM official can be heard advocating what sounds like murder. “Pretty much a shoot first, ask questions later,” the official says in the audio recording, according to Wooten’s memo, before somebody reminds the others that the conversation is being recorded. Also heard on the audio: “Shoot his fxxxxxx dog first!” The recording also reveals agents making crude remarks about people and promising “hell to pay.” Wooten also reveals that BLM officials joked about torturing one of the Bundy brothers, David, by rubbing his face into the ground so intensely that “little bits of gravel stuck in his face.” The armed showdown, in which the BLM appears to have been the aggressor under the guise of “enforcing a court order,” could have easily resulted in a bloodbath, if not for calm local lawmen and the Bundy family and their supporters remaining composed.

In a related article, The New American speaks to lawmakers who have taken an interest in this case, and who are now demanding justice.

There have been a number of incredible scandals surrounding the U.S. Bureau of Land Management (BLM) over the years — indeed, just a few years ago, a federal judge lambasted the agency for an “abhorrent,” decades-long “conspiracy” to destroy another rancher. But this latest bombshell about the Bundy cases may be the bureaucracy’s biggest scandal to date. Because the Constitution does not authorize a Bureau of Land Management, or even federal ownership of land (with a few minor exceptions), the scandal should prompt Congress to abolish the entire unconstitutional department. Returning these lands to the states and the people may not solve all problems, but it would certainly be a step in the right direction. But this case and these abuses cannot be forgotten or swept under the rug.

All decent Americans must demand that justice be served — at least to ensure that no more innocent citizens will be terrorized, brutalized, or even murdered by militarized and unconstitutional bureaucracies.
