Trump Derangement Worsens, Despite Mueller Report, Dems Still Think He Committed a Crime

The highly anticipated cure for Trump Derangement Syndrome has failed.

The report from Special Counsel Robert Mueller did not, as some hoped, end the speculation that President Trump conspired with Russia to win the election and then obstructed justice to keep law-enforcement authorities from prosecuting him.

Instead, the Mueller report, which returned zero indictments for what Democrats have claimed is a conspiracy to destroy the American Republic, seems instead to have intensified TDS.

Democrats don’t believe Mueller’s report, and are still carrying on about crimes the president did not commit.

The Report
Attorney General William Bar summarized Mueller’s “Report on the Investigation into Russian Interference in the 2016 Presidential Election” in letter to the Judiciary Committee chairmen on Capitol Hill.

Barr quoted the report directly: The “investigation did not establish that members of the Trump Campaign conspired or coordinated with the Russian government in its election interference activities.” Mueller also did not conclude that Trump had obstructed justice, Barr wrote. With Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, Barr “concluded that the evidence developed during the Special Counsel’s investigation is not sufficient to establish that the President committed an obstruction-of-justice offense.”

How thorough was Mueller’s probe? Barr detailed the size and scope of Mueller’s snipe hunt:

■ 19 lawyers who were assisted by about 40 FBI agents, intelligence analysts, forensic accountants, and other professional staff;
■ 2,800 subpoenas and 500 search warrants;
■ 230 orders for communication records;
■ 50 orders authorizing use of pen registers;
■ 13 requests to foreign governments for evidence; and
■ 500 witnesses interviewed.

But Mueller found zero prosecutable crimes.

Democrats Won’t Give Up
Despite that, Democrats are still suggesting that Trump committed a crime, as they have been insisting is true since long before the investigation was over. They’re fixated on just one line from Mueller’s report: “While this report does not conclude that the President committed a crime, it also does not exonerate him.”

In July 2017, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said, “We saw cold, hard evidence of the Trump campaign, and indeed the Trump family eagerly intending to collude possibly with Russia, a hostile foreign power.” Now, with Mueller concluding that Trump did not commit a crime, all she could say, with Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, was that it is imperative for Mr. Barr to make the full report public and provide its underlying documentation and findings to Congress.

Representative Maxine Waters, another elderly leftist from California, has been caterwauling about “collusion” and impeachment for some time. In August, she said, “The crimes of Donald Trump’s top aides are going to lead right into collusion and obstruction.” Before that, she accused the president of “collusion, obstruction of justice, money laundering.”

Waters said Barr’s letter means nothing: We can’t allow them to get away with this,” she huffed to MSNBC’s Joy Reid. This is not the end of anything.”

In February, Representative Adam Schiff said, “You can see evidence in plain sight on the issue of collusion — pretty compelling evidence.”

Mueller apparently didn’t see that evidence, probably because his investigation didn’t produce any, but Schiff is undeterred. He still thinks he’ll find a snipe. “There is significant evidence of collusion,” he told ABC’s George Stephanopoulos. “There’s a difference between compelling evidence of collusion” and whether Mueller can “prove beyond a reasonable doubt the criminal charge of conspiracy…. I have trust in his prosecutorial judgment, but that doesn’t mean, of course, that there isn’t compelling and incriminating evidence that should be shared with the American people.”

House Judiciary chieftain Jerry Nadler, who long ago decided he had “clear” and “incriminating evidence of collusion,” said likewise. “Obviously, we know there was some collusion,” citing meetings with Russians to received “stolen information” from the Democrats to help win the election. “We know there was collusion. Why there’s been no indictments, we don’t know.”

Nadler said the question isn’t whether Trump obstructed justice. Nadler avers that he did. The question is whether Trump’s obstruction was a crime.

Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani said Democrats owe Trump an apology, and vowed to find out who manufactured the hoax that Democrats and media have been peddling since before Trump was elected.

“Now the question is if there were three investigations — no evidence of collusion — who made it up?” Giuliani asked the hosts of Fox & Friends this morning. “It didn’t just come out of thin air. I want to know who did it. Who paid for it? Who fueled it? Because the person that did it, and the group that did it, knows it’s untrue because they invented it.”
