Islam Continues March On Britain

The so-called London Taliban is attempting to impose Sharia law by threatening homosexuals and women who don’t know wear Muslim garb with violence. The city’s Daily Mail newspaper, in yet another installment of its episodic chronicle of Islam’s march through Britain and its institutions, reports that Muslims are harassing women who refuse to wear Islamic headgear, the hijab, or even worse, the suffocating burqa. Neighborhoods are being declared “gay free” zones.

Muslims deny they have threatened anyone, but the subtle campaign is just another example of Britain’s slow surrender to demands for compliance with the dictates of Mohammed and his disciples.

Meanwhile, in something of the obverse of of the situation, a massive housing association has gone to war against one of its electricians because he adorned the dashboard of his company van with a Christian cross.

Sharia For Britain?

The harassment of women who don’t cotton to Muslims headgear is the work of “Talibanesque thugs,” the Daily Mail reported.

According to the Daily Mail:

An Asian woman who works in a pharmacy in east London was told to dress more modestly and wear a veil or the shop would be boycotted.

When she went to the media to talk about the abuse she suffered, a man later entered the pharmacy and told her: "If you keep doing these things, we are going to kill you."

The 31-year-old, who is not a practising Muslim, said she has since been told to take holiday by the pharmacy owners and now fears she may lose her job.
She said: "Why should I wear a hijab (headscarf) or burqa? I haven’t done anything wrong."

Other incidents reported include the placing of stickers across the white-minority borough which state it is a "gay-free zone" and the daubing of paint on posters for clothing shop H&M featuring women in bikinis.

Unsurprisingly, “moderate” Muslims claim such demands are unacceptable in a free society, but the more honest Mulsim cleric, Ajem Choudary, explained what the Muslims were trying to do: intimidate women into wearing Muslim headgear.

Reported the Daily Mail:

Firebrand Muslim cleric Anjem Choudary said that he was aware of individuals who would speak up if they saw a Muslim woman without a headscarf, but insisted they were only giving advice about their views of Islam. "There are groups who propagdate Islam," the Muslim minister told the paper, "and if they see a Muslims woman without a hijab they may says ‘sister, it’s oligatory that you cover your hair.’ "

It’s an individual intervention to propagate Islam. For non-Muslims, they may point out to them that women are being exploited in the West.

It’s about telling people about the preference of covering up, but nobody’s going to say "you are going to be killed."

Choudary, an orthodox Muslim, suggested that terrorists may strike the forthcoming royal wedding between Prince William and Kate Middleton, and he has repeatedly stated the violence was justified in the name of Islam.

As The New American has reported, "Choudary has a long history of hatred for his country and the West."

His Muslim street thugs disrupted a homecoming parade in Luton, just outside London, for British soldiers returning from duty in Afghanistan. British GIs, he says, are cowards and “brutal murderers.” And murdering non-Muslims is a holy cause because "infidels" reject Allah. He wants British Muslims to help terrorists and has called for the execution of Pope Benedict XVI.

As well, just weeks ago, Muslims jammed London’s Oxford Street, marching and shouting for the imposition of Sharia law in Britain. It is a frequent site in Britain.

Anti-Christian Housing Agency

Meanwhile, the campaign against Christianity in Britain continues.

The Daily Mail also reports the story of an electrician in West Yorkshire, military veteran Colin Atkinson, who is not permitted to keep a Christian cross on the dashboard of his work van.

His employer, the taxpayer-subsidized Wakefield and district Housing Association, the Daily Mail reports, ordered him to appear before a disciplinary board because he refused to remove the cross.

"The treatment of Christians in this country is becoming diabolical," he told the Daily Mail, "but I will stand up for my faith."

While Mr. Atkinson’s employer attacks his dashboard cross because it does not want anyone to think it endorses the Christian religion, the boss at the depot where he works is permitted to hang a poster of the Argentinian communist mass murderer, Che Guevara. WDH also permits the Guevara partsian to keep Marxist slogans on a whiteboard in his office.

As well, the Daily Mail reports:

The association strongly promotes "inclusive" policies and allows employees to wear religious symbols at work.

It has provided stalls at gay pride events, held "diversity days" for travellers, and hosted a gender reassignment event entitled "A World That Includes Transpeople."

Apropos of Muslims in London forcing Islamic headgear on women, the employer’s diversity czar flatly explained that while Christian symbols were verboten, Islamic religious garb is welcome and encouraged because of "diversity."

At meetings with Mr. Atkinson and his union representative, the Daily Mail reports, the diversity czar said "WDH has a stance of neutrality. We now have different faiths, new emerging cultures. We have to be respectful of all views and beliefs."

At another meeting, [Jayne] O’Connell said Mr Atkinson could express his faith but "it is quite clear it cannot be associated with WDH and displaying the cross gives the impression that WDH is a Christian organisation."

She said staff could demonstrate their personal beliefs "discreetly," even adding that the company could provide extra material in its official corporate colours "for employees who wish to wear a different style of uniform."

Pressed … on whether a Muslim woman who wore a burka at work would be considered discreet, she said: "If they could do their job effectively, then yes."

Asked whether she would think a burka in WDH corporate colours was discreet, Ms O’Connell replied: "Yes, it would be."
